Hello fellow audio enthusiasts. My name is Timothy, and I have had an affinity with vintage audio for many years. It all started with my first purchase of a McIntosh MC240 amplifier, and MX110 preamplifier/tuner. I became infatuated with the warm and natural sound they created, and began to collect tube Hi-Fi from various American manufacturers of the 1950's and 1960's. This is not just a business for me, it's a passion!
At Mid Century Hi Fidelity our objective is to place with our Client the finest pieces of 1950's-1960's vintage Hi-Fi Stereo tube audio equipment possible. We offer classic units from manufacturers such as: McIntosh, Marantz, Harman Kardon and sometimes Western Electric, in addition to more obscure but also highly prized units by, RCA, Accuphase, Conrad and Lafayette, just to name a few. Each having their own unique characteristics of sound and aesthetic quality. Almost all of the items we offer are analog tube audio, from the "Golden Age of Analog" and all manufactured here in the United States circa 1950's or 1960's. We strive to locate and purchase audio from original owners who have vanquished these units to a closet, basement, attic, storage unit or crawl space, when they upgraded to newer models. Every unit is carefully bench tested and auditioned to ensure that it works just as it did when it came out of the manufacturers factory. We try to maintain originality, and every amplifier, preamplifier or tuner is treated as if it were my very own.
We will guarantee each units to be in perfect working order upon arrival. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee against future component failure, tube failure or operator misuse. Please see our "SERVICE DEPARTMENT" for information about having your unit restored to manufacturers specifications. We offer a flat rate fee service. My Technician has over 40 years of experience with his career beginning with the Military and then in the Circuit City "Service Department." He is experienced in tube audio as well as Solid State.
